01 First Pattern Draft
First I create an initial pattern draft from either a fit sample, block pattern or one of your existing patterns.
02 Digital 3D Sample
I use CLO 3D to visualise the fit and style of the pattern on a digital mannequin that represents your dream customers measurements. Here I can evaluate whether I need to change the fit or style before we sample a real life sample. This helps to cut down sampling and unnecessary costs.
03 Physical Sampling
After we have signed off the digital sample, we’ll then move onto creating a physical sample with our in-house seamstress. We’ll use like for like fabrics for this process.
04 Fit Review
We’ll ship the sample to your fit model so they can wear it and test the fit, durability and comfort. I’ll assess the fit, finishings, and style via recorded videos or a video call for fit with my 15+ years experience in lingerie and swimwear fitting experience.
05 Amendments
If the fit or style needs to be improved, I’ll update the pattern to create the perfected fit and style.
06 Pattern Format
Lastly, I’ll digitally format the pattern to either a PDF or DXF format depending on your factory requirements, so your factory can easily use your pattern and create your garments from it.
WHY A SPECIALST MATTERS
Lingerie and swimwear are not like other garments
Hey, I’m Yelena. I’ve been working specifically with lingerie and swimwear garments for 15 years. But it doesn’t really matter how long specifically, it matters what I’ve experienced and learnt along the way. Here’s what I know now:
- Construction choice not only affects how the garment goes together but also the market level a brand is
- Technical elements like using stabilizing fabric in the centre bridge of a bra or specific elastic tensions all affect fit hugely
- How a pattern is graded across sizes affects whether every size in your range fits properly, not just your sample size.
- How a fabric behaves under stretch and repeated wear affects whether a garment still fits properly after the customer’s washed it ten times.
