Lingerie and swimwear brands typically take longer to launch than outerwear brands due to the increased complexity of fit and fabric selection required for intimate apparel. Founders should expect a preparation period of approximately 9–18 months from the start of the Concept to Launch package. Timelines can vary depending on the size and complexity of the project, the number of products involved, and any unforeseen delays, which may extend this timeframe. The Concept to Launch package usually concludes within 4–12 months, before bulk production begins.

A pattern is a technical template used to cut fabric and create the structure of a garment once it is sewn together. Every cut-and-sew garment requires a pattern, which is typically developed by the manufacturer using the information provided in a tech pack. As a pattern maker, I can create patterns for your brand’s garments as part of the platinum package. When patterns are created by me, they belong to you and can be taken to your chosen manufacturer. It is important to note that pattern ownership policies vary between manufacturers. Some will sell patterns to you, while others retain ownership, which can limit how and where they are used.

Throughout my experience I have learnt where most founders go wrong or face challenges, so this package requires all product development services to seamlessly create thoughtful collections that are actually what your customers want to buy. Every stage is strategically thought through. I don't advise skipping any stage as your collection may not be as successful prior to or after launch.

You will need a clear idea you want to develop into a brand, along with an understanding of who the brand is for. Visual references are not essential at this stage, but they can be helpful if you have them. This is a collaborative process, so your input, decision-making, and engagement throughout the project are essential. You will also need funding to invest in the development of your brand. Building a successful brand takes time and consistent effort, so a level of dedication, commitment, and readiness to actively participate in the process is required.
