Lingerie Grading for Annie and Myras

Annie and Myras is a Vintage-Glam inspired lingerie sewing pattern brand for home sewers, with a focus on small band, large bust bra sizes. I digitised the patterns, graded them and then formatted them so they could be easily printed by the home sewer.

When people ask me how I got into lingerie design

When people ask me how I got into lingerie design I really have to rack my brains (because it was over 12 years ago!)

You can get in the motion of doing something and sometimes forget that original fire of why. Tbh my why HAS changed.

When I first started creating lingerie it was because I had a bit of an obsession with vintage lingerie and corsets! I loved the details and technicalities and the nostalgia. After this I quickly learnt that I loved to explore with design! I used to design lingerie from the most weirdest of things, like a crumbling wall in my studio (I called it the diamonds from dust collection 😉.)

But that was a long time ago tbh, and I’ve had a lot of experiences throughout that time. One of them being having a health condition where my bed was the comfiest place to be.

And whilst I spent a lot of time in bed I found more I had to have super comfy underwear to match. Wires felt incredibly uncomfortable on my sternum. I went from wearing full cup bras to plunges and then to mono wires and then to… no wires at all.

The pressure on my chest made my anxiety worse. And again this is the same for my underwear, anything tight on my sore tummy was a no no.

So I had to have the comfiest of undies.
Whilst I thankfully don’t suffer from those symptoms often anymore, I still wear the comfiest of undies. I can’t go back now.

👉So my reason for helping other brands to create the best undies for their customers is a personal one.

At every stage of my lingerie making journey, I’ve required different types of lingerie that have made me feel my most comfortable in my own body.

Whether that be vintage inspired to give me the nostalgia I loved, whether that be wearing something completely unique and avante garde to soothe my creative self or whether that be the most softest lingerie on my tired body, there was a need for it all that I desired at the time.

This is why I love supporting intimate apparel brands, as being comfortable in your body is absolutely everything. 🙌
