The two examples both had the same cup volume but how it has been distributed is completely different! With a refined, customer-focused process, I create With a refined, customer-focused process, I created my best-selling sewing pattern for my home sewing lingerie brand @sewprojects 🎉⁣ So, how did I do it? Let me break it down for you 👇⁣ 🌟 Market awareness, branding & design I noticed something missing in the market. There were plenty of wired bra patterns that were supportive, and soft bra patterns that were comfy but not many that had both. My brand is built around comfy lingerie with a vintage twist, so I saw an opportunity. I wanted to create a set that looked vintage-inspired, but felt like a modern bralette and easy to wear, but with the support people actually needed.⁣ 🌟 Product development To deliver that support, I had to be extra thoughtful with pattern drafting, fitting, and fabric choice. Most bralette patterns use body sizing, but breasts don’t follow the same rules as the ribcage. That’s why I used bra sizing instead, so people could adjust the band and cup separately for better fit and support.⁣ I also used fabrics that provided both structure and softness, not just comfort alone. This made a huge difference in wearability. And honestly, it took time. I made several rounds of fit samples, tested different fabrics, and adjusted the pattern until the fit was just right 👌⁣ I also listened to my customers, especially those with fuller busts who couldn’t find soft bras that offered support. It meant more work, more fittings, and more sampling, but I knew it would be worth it! ✨ And it was. The full bust version became my best-selling pattern.⁣ This is just the product development part, marketing was a whole other layer! But the point is, a best-selling product comes from listening to your customer, solving their problems, and testing until it works. ✨ Are you developing a lingerie or swimwear product right now?
